Evaluation camp for the 2013 Junior Women’s National Softball Team

The PWSA will be partnering with Softball Canada in hosting an evaluation camp for Team Ontario and the 2013 Junior Women’s National Softball Team. The evaluations will occur on the May 19th-20th Victoria Day weekend. The evaluations will be open to players born in 1994 and younger. On May 21st, twenty-four (24) Ontario athletes will be selected from the camp to participate in further evaluations for the opportunity to be selected to one team traveling to the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship tournament in British Columbia, July 2nd-8th, 2012. This tournament will be used for further evaluations for the 2013 Junior Women’s National Softball Team and the 2013 Ontario Women’s Canada Games Team.  Application deadline is April 1st, 2012.

Every four years, our Association is responsible for sending an All-Star team to the Canada Summer Games. As well, every four years Softball Canada picks a World Youth Team. In addition, they hold Talent Identification Camps across the Country to supply our National Team.

It is, therefore, very important that our Association develop a talent bank if we are to field our best team for the Canada Games and place Ontario athletes on the National Teams.

We must develop an army of Talent Evaluators across the Province. This is where you can make a valuable contribution. We need your help.

If you can give any of your time to this project, a few weekends or a few evenings during the season to attend games or Tournaments in your area, or if you know of other Softball people in your area who would be interested, we would like to hear from you.

If you know of any "exceptional" female players whom you think should be evaluated, please advise only the contact person listed below and provide the following information:

1. Name, address, phone number and birth date.
2. Team name and Association.
3. Uniform number, position played.
4. Copy of league schedule.
5. Tournaments she will be playing in.
6. Only players from P.W.S.A. affiliated teams can be evaluated.
