P.W.S.A Mandatory Certification
PWSA participating teams must have at least one (1) registered coach with
NCCP Softball Certification as follows:
- Mite Grass Roots Clinic or Learn to Coach
- Squirt Level I Certified or Trained Competition - Introduction, Softball
“What to Coach”
- All other Level II Certified or Trained Competition - Introduction,
Softball “What to Coach” and “How to Coach”
NOTE: Teams participating in Canadian Championships and/or Canada Summer
Games are required to have NCCP Certified Coaches as prescribed by Softball
Canada and/or Government of Ontario.
General Information:
- A fully Certified Coach must have successfully completed all applicable
parts of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).
- Affiliated teams not participating in Provincial Tournaments are not
required to comply with Mandatory Certification. However, in the best
interests of the sport, they are encouraged to participate in this Program.
- New Teams affiliating with the P.W.S.A. for the first time shall be
granted a grace period of one (1) year, in which to enter the NCCP Program.
- At a Provincial Tournament, teams without a properly Certified Coach in
attendance will not be allowed to participate in the Tournament. Such teams
will automatically forfeit their games.
Coaches MAY be granted an exemption, ONE TIME ONLY, upon written application
to their P.W.S.A. Coordinator.
